This massage focuses mainly on your lower limbs, from the top of your hips down to your feet. Stretching and sports massage included. Massage may improve recovery time from weak or sore muscles and it also may increase amount of time you are able to run if you find yourself stopping short from a bothersome joint. I can work on all types of athletes and enjoy preparing you or helping you recover from your next event.

Mom-To-Be Massage - Pregnancy pays a serious toll on your body. Taking care of yourself is important before the big day and helps in relieving those many aches and pains you may be experiencing everywhere, specifically your low back, hips, legs and shoulders. I'm a trained birth doula who is also trained in pregnancy massage. Please ask about my doula services if interested.

Wonderful Wellness Experience - Just need to relax or pamper yourself? This is the massage for you. Give yourself a break and take some time out of your busy schedule to receive a physical and mental wellness experience. Primarily Swedish and/or deep tissue massage. Bring relaxation to another level. You deserve it.

Energy-Focused Session - Can include any or all of the following: craniosacral therapy, muscle energy stretching, visceral manipulation and emotional freedom technique. Patients will be fully clothed during the session and NOT receive massage (If you want to get a massage and add some energy work in, scroll down and look at add-ons). Here's a brief description of each one and my experience with it:

Craniosacral therapy (CST): A modality that influences the movement of cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) in the body. CSF is a fluid that connects the body and creates a rhythm that can be altered with restrictions created from physical, mental, or emotional stress. There is an energetic component to CST that allows the practitioner to help the patient on a deeper level by allowing them to self correct themselves. The body is a unit in which everything is connected to everything else and CST works off that principle. I started learning craniosacral therapy in July of 2010 from Drs. Cortney Cusack and Masashiro Takakura. I have seen significant improvement in my clients with chronic pain and/or headaches using CST. It has been especially effective in people with residual pains such as from surgeries or hip/knee/shoulder replacements. Other conditions it could help address are fibromyalgia, TMJ syndrome, and mental fogginess.

Muscle energy stretching (MES): A technique that involves isolating a specific muscle or muscle group. It does require the client to play an active role in contracting the specific muscle, then I as the massage practitioner will stretch the muscle to it's limit, and repeat this as needed. I started learning and using MES in my practice in September of 2010 from Dr. Dean Neary. From my experience, it's particular effective for stiff joints, muscle aches and pains, and decreased range of motion.

Visceral manipulation (VM): This technique involves restoring mobility and motility to the organs (aka. viscera, i.e., liver, intestines, colon, gallbladder) in order to enhance flow of fluids and energy, and release restrictions. I began learning VM in July of 2011 from Dr. Greg Yasuda. At this point, I've only worked with abdominal and digestive complaints. I have worked with patients with irritable bowel syndrome, bladder irritation and scars who improved considerably.

Emotional freedom technique (EFT): This modality involves tapping various acupressure points with the goals of relieving negative emotional symptoms such as food cravings, depression, anxiety, anger and fears. It can also be useful in physical pain management. I had a patient who had raved about it so I decided to go out and learn it. I learned EFT from Dr. Sharum Sharif and have found it to be amazingly useful in myself and others.

Because of the nature of energy work, it's hard to estimate how long it will take, so it will be priced by time needed for a session, which we won't exactly know until the end of the session. I usually feel like 30 minutes is sufficient for most people if they are only receiving one modality. I never want to overdo the amount of energy work that I give. I will give what I feel is needed. However, clients are free to indicate what modalities/techniques they would like for their sessions, and I can give a rough estimate on how long it would take. If you want me to try to stay on the lower end of the rate scale, I can do my best to accommodate that.

The minimum for an energy-focused session is a 30 minutes session for $40. Each additional 15 minutes beyond the minimum is an extra $10, to a max of 90 minutes. Rates are below:
30 minutes - $40; 45 minutes - $50; 60 minutes - $60; 75 minutes - $70; 90 minutes - $80

DISCLAIMER: Please note that any serious medical condition should be addressed by a medical professional. I will not offer you medical advice. There is no guarantee that any of these energy/manual therapy modalities will help with your condition. You can come try it out and then decide for yourself whether or not it will be helpful for you in one way or another.
